In this story:

Where has the time gone? Marlon Humphrey is entering the final year of the rookie contract extension he signed in 2020.

Humphrey was drafted to Baltimore with pick No. 16 in the 2017 NFL rookie draft. Before the final year of his rookie contract began, he signed a massive extension for five years worth $98.75 million.

This deal is keeping Humphrey in Baltimore through the end of this upcoming season. Humphrey, 29, is entering his tenth NFL season this year. He's been selected to two all-pro first teams and four Pro Bowls during his time in Baltimore.

Aside from the fact that superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson is currently eligible for a contract extension, Humphrey is just the biggest elephant in the room that needs addressing. There are dozens of Ravens who are currently practicing on the final year of their contract.

DeCosta not in a hurry to touch Humphrey's contract

Humphrey is set to hold a $26.3 million cap hit for 2026. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta spoke at the NFL combine about Humphrey entering the final year of his contract. When asked whether the all-pro corners' contract needs to be adjusted, DeCosta didn't appear eager to make any changes.

"Not necessarily...I do expect him to be on the team, I love Marlon."

Humphrey started 15 games last season and led the Ravens in interceptions for the second consecutive year with four. The corner out of Alabama was unsure about his status with the team following the devastating loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers during the final week of the regular season.

If Humphrey is released by Baltimore after June 1, the organization would save $19.3 million. The Ravens lost an elite offensive lineman in Tyler Linderbaum, a dynamic pass catcher in Isaiah Likely, and longtime fullback Patrick Ricard this offseason. While DeCosta expects Humphrey to be on the team, there's no one in the Ravens building more aware of the money they can save by releasing him.

Four other impact Ravens on final year of contract

Ravens defensive tackle Broderick Washington, 29, has spent all six of his NFL seasons in Baltimore. What started off as an ankle injury early last regular season evolved into an Achilles injury that needed surgery. The injury wasn't a full tear, but it was serious enough for Washington to only start three games last season.

Running back Justice Hill has also spent all six of his NFL seasons playing for the Ravens. He's been a Swiss army knife in the backfield for Lamar Jackson as a pass catcher and a runner. Hill appeared in ten games last season, ran for 93 yards, carried the ball 18 times, and accumulated 169 receiving yards. He'll turn 29-years-old in November this year.

Outside linebacker Tavius Robinson, 27, is also entering the final year of his rookie contract. He was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Since then, he's started 15 games and appeared in 44 games in three seasons with the Ravens.

Offensive guard Andrew Vorhees, 27, started all 17 games for the Ravens last season. He was picked by Baltimore in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Vorhees is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Vorhees tore his ACL while performing drills at the NFL combine and was still drafted by the Ravens. Vorhees was able to press 225 pounds 38 times with just one healthy knee.
