New Orleans Saints Add Former Third-Round Pick Who Worked With Kubiak and Janocko

The Saints have added a fourth quarterback to the roster.

The Saints have added another quarterback to the room, as the team announced on Friday that they've agreed to terms with Kellen Mond.

Mond is a former third-round pick (66th overall) of the Vikings from the 2021 draft. Naturally, there's big ties to new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko from that time in Minnesota. He'll turn 25 in late-June.

Mond was waived by the Vikings in late August 2022 and claimed off of waivers by the Browns the following day. He would be released by Cleveland the following August only to be picked back up and later be waived on Aug. 30. He landed with the Colts practice squad on Oct. 10 and did not have his contract renewed.

Mond joins Derek Carr, Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman and it's the first time in quite a while that New Orleans will have four on their roster. We'll see how things progress as we move into the different stages of the offseason leading up to training camp. This also means we probably won't see any additions through the draft, but keep an eye on the undrafted pool.
