Seahawks Jake Bobo All But Solidifies Roster Spot vs. Packers

Seattle Seahawks receiver Jake Bobo all but secured his spot on the final 53-man roster with yet another productive outing against the Green Bay Packers.

The NFL preseason is a time for unknown players to make their presence known, and for the Seattle Seahawks, undrafted rookie receiver Jake Bobo has done just that.

Already with D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the "big three," Bobo, through hard work and impressive preseason outings, has seen himself skyrocket up the depth chart.

While already on the coach's radar prior to Seattle's final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, Bobo again looked comfortable. In the first half of Saturday's 19-15 preseason loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau, he hauled in yet another touchdown.

Late in the second quarter and facing a 3rd and 3, quarterback Drew Lock found Bobo for a touchdown strike as the Seattle offense finally got rolling to end the half.

Through his three preseason outings, Bobo has looked every part of a genuine NFL receiver. He's totaled 125 receiving yards on eight receptions while also making a splash on special teams.

Bobo has stacked good days this offseason, and while that was all good and well in OTAs, minicamp, and training camp, the true measure of Bobo's progress would be how he fares in a real NFL game environment.

It turns out Bobo was as advertised, as he's had consistent production and became somewhat of a favorite target of Lock's.

Entering the offseason as an undrafted free agent, not much was expected of the former UCLA star. However, he quickly established himself as a viable option in Shane Waldron's offense despite the embarrassment of riches at the receiver position.

Head coach Pete Carroll stated earlier in the week that Bobo is "flying right now," and after his exploits against the Packers, the undrafted free agent has flown up the depth chart and surely onto the Seahawks' final 53-man roster.
