In their preseason finale, the Seattle Seahawks will travel to face the Green Bay Packers on Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field.

During the first two preseason games, coach Pete Carroll decided to rest several key veterans, including receiver D.K. Metcalf, linebacker Bobby Wagner, cornerback Tariq Woolen, and running back Kenneth Walker III.

However, in the Seahawk's 22-14 victory against the Dallas Cowboys last week, Carroll provided quarterback Geno Smith with an opportunity to play. Smith was only on the field for the team's first two series but completed five out of six pass attempts for 46 yards.

Carroll has yet to announce whether Smith or any of his starters will participate on Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, Packers coach Matt LaFleur has confirmed his intention to play his first-stringers, including quarterback Jordan Love among them. As the Utah State product enters his first full year as a starter, he showcased his potential last week in the team's 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots, completing five out of eight pass attempts for 84 yards and delivering a touchdown.

However, it is uncertain how long LaFleur plans to play his first-stringers. Earlier this week, the coach revealed that the decision will be made on game day.

"It's going to be more of a gut feeling, I would say, on my part, where we're at," LaFleur said. "I do think there's a lot of value in getting ready for a noon kickoff."

While the extent of playing time for the starters will be a significant aspect to monitor, another prominent factor will be the performance of the roster hopefuls on each team. As the deadline for roster cuts to 53 players approaches on Aug. 29, the spotlight will be on how these players showcase their talents in the preseason finale.

Stay tuned for live updates of the game.
