NFL Draft Analyst: Seahawks 'One of Likeliest Teams to Trade Down'

The Seattle Seahawks have limitless options in next week's NFL Draft, including trading down for even more picks.

One of the four elite quarterbacks? Or maybe the best defender?

Dominating defensive lineman Jalen Carter? Dual-threat quarterback Anthony Richardson? Or someone off their Top 30 visits?

With the NFL Draft looming next week, pin-pointing the Seattle Seahawks' plan is a dizzying task. Thanks to the Russell Wilson trade, they have two first-round picks - No. 5 and No. 20 overall - and almost countless options.

And now CBS Sports reminds us about another route Seattle could choose to take: Trading down, to acquire even more picks. The site, in fact, names the Seahawks as one of the five likeliest teams to trade down during April 27's first round.

Writes CBS:

At No. 20, John Schneider will have some options, but I’m also keeping an eye at No. 5 overall. Sure, the top four quarterbacks could be off the board at this point, but what if they aren’t? One QB-needy team could be aggressive and contact Seattle. With 10 total picks, I think the Seahawks could be candidates to trade up or down later this month.

Not surprisingly, the Houston Texans (No. 2 and No. 12) and Arizona Cardinals (No. 3) are also on the list.

If we're looking for a potential trade partner for the Seahawks, teams behind them that CBS expects to move up include the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 7), Tennessee Titans (No. 11), Minnesota Vikings (No. 23) and Buffalo Bills (No. 27).

As the 2022 playoff team with the highest draft pick, in a sense the Seahawks control the draft's first round. But which direction will they go?
