49ers GM John Lynch 'Feels Seahawks Coming' After Strong 2023 Draft

The last time the Seattle Seahawks won the NFC West, they still had quarterback Russell Wilson leading the offense. While it has only been two years since that division crown for the Seahawks, they are ready to change that this season.
However, as it currently stands, the kings of the mountain in their division are the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco has won the last three matchups between the two teams, including a 41-23 blowout on Wild Card weekend in the 2022 playoffs.
And though the 49ers are the reigning NFC West champions, San Francisco general manager John Lynch admitted on KNBR's Murph and Mac Podcast that the pressure is amping up from Seattle.
“We feel the Seahawks coming,” Lynch said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “They’re really good. They had a really good draft last year. I think they’ve repeated it this year. I'll say this, John Schneider is as good at this job as anybody in our league.
"And so you always know you're going to have competition with he and Pete Carroll, the way they work together, and they do it really well. They've kind of reinvented themselves numerous times."
After back-to-back strong showings in the NFL draft the Seahawks have argubaly put together one of the NFL's best all-around rosters, with a combination of a solid young core and talented veterans.
There is no doubting that until the games are played that the 49ers will be considered by many to be the favorites to repeat as division champions. Despite that, though, the Seahawks are making up ground fast and poised to make some noise in the NFC West once again.
