Seahawks' Quandre Diggs Bashes 'Underrated' Label: 'Sick of It!'

Seattle Seahawks star safety Quandre Diggs opened up about some people calling him underrated.

Depending on who you ask, Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs is among the best at his position in the NFL. To others he isn't in that conversation, but rather lower on the totem pole in terms of safety rankings.

Then you have those who believe he's underrated, and doesn't get the respect he deserves in the league. Well, it safe to say that Diggs himself is tired of being labeled an underrated safety.

“I’m sick of it. I’m 30 years old. How long am I going to be underrated? Same with (Tyler Lockett) Lock," Diggs said. "How long is he going to be underrated? We’ve been in the league for nine years. We can’t be underrated forever."

"If you’re talking about a second or third-year guy or maybe when I moved to safety, but the plays that I’ve made and the stats that I have, that’s not underrated, that’s a great player.”

Diggs' frustration is, of course, perfectly valid when you look at how dominant he's been with the Seahawks. In his three full seasons in Seattle, he's started in every game possible, recording 158 tackles while snagging 14 interceptions and tallying 32 passes defended.

As for Lockett, he's argubaly in the same boat as Diggs. He's recorded four straight 1,000-yard seasons and has consistently been one of the most productive receivers in the NFL.

Ultimately, Diggs will get his flowers from his peers as well as the fans and analysts who see the value he brings to the Seahawks defense. However, his ultimate goal remains clear - get back to the playoffs and hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
