The Seattle Seahawks are preparing for their Preseason Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans with a joint practice on Friday. There's always plenty to pay attention to during these sessions, with coaches saying they can usually learn more about their team in these practices than in preseason games.

This session, however, took a rough turn for the Seahawks when fan-favorite wide receiver Jake Bobo went down with what appeared to be a right leg injury. Bobo was looked at by trainers and eventually had to be carted off the field.

According to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune, Bobo landed awkwardly when attempting to haul in a pass. He was unable to get off the field on his own power and looked visibly upset when he had to be taken off via the cart.

Undrafted in 2023 out of UCLA, Bobo has continually made waves for Seattle over the past four preseasons. He was again proving himself worthy of a spot on the 53-man roster, but there will be legitimate concerns about his availability going forward following this injury.

Jake Bobo has been a key special teams contributor for Seahawks

During his first three seasons in the NFL, Bobo has been used only sparingly on offense. He's recorded 34 receptions for 323 yards with three touchdowns. His numbers declined in 2025, down to just two receptions for 20 yards, but he also saw his snap count drop off significantly.

After playing in 29 percent of the snaps in each of his first two seasons, Bobo was on the field for only 17 percent of the Seahawks' offensive snaps in 2025 (117 total). He remained a key piece of the special teams puzzle, recording 134 snaps (45 percent). That was down from his 314 snaps (67 percent) the previous season, but he was still a vital part of the unit.

This season, Bobo had more competition than ever before for a spot. The Seahawks are much deeper at wide receiver entering 2026 with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed ahead of him. They also have second-year wideouts Tory Horton and Ricky White as well as rookies Emmanuel Henderson and Rashad Rochelle all fighting for spots.

We will keep you updated on any news regarding Bobo going forward.
