Cam Sutton Shares Love for Steelers as He Joins Lions

There's nothing but love for the "beautiful" time Cam Sutton spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH -- Cam Sutton is now a member of the Detroit Lions, but the deal is still fresh, and the love between the cornerback and the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fanbase is still strong.

During his introductory press conference in Detroit, Sutton shared that love and spoke highly of his time in Pittsburgh.

"Obviously, being in Pittsburgh for the foundation of the first six (seasons), you know, that was its era," Sutton said. "It was a beautiful time."

Sutton walked into the press conference and introduced himself to every member of the media in the room. The instant reaction was gratitude from those in attendance that Sutton cared enough to be there - and then he stepped up to the podium and expressed the same, and how excited he was to be a Lion.

"When it was time to really get things going, Detroit, the family, they came strong, man," Sutton said. "It just made sense, from the top down in the organization … It’s always been a tough-nosed, gritty team. These are styles that I’m a part of. That’s my identity."

Sutton spent six years in Pittsburgh, playing in playoff games and AFC North comebacks. Looking back, he shared his reflection, and said this past season was exactly what the Steelers are built from.

"At any point, you could’ve laid down and you could’ve gave up on the season and looked forward to the future," Sutton said. "It’s never about that. It’s about us coming together every opportunity that we have in front of us and making the most of it. They stood on that. They stood on the foundation of that and weathered the storm."

Sutton signed a three-year, $33 million deal with Detroit. In his place, Pittsburgh inked Patrick Peterson to a two-year deal.
