PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers made a late-offseason splash by trading with the Los Angeles Rams for wide receiver Allen Robinson. And to one NFL analyst, the move is going to make a lot of other teams regret not looking into the move themselves.

The Steelers and Rams swapped seventh-round picks for the wideout, and Pittsburgh is only paying $5 million of the $15 million Robinson is guaranteed this season.

To Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the move is going to work in Pittsburgh, and others around the NFL will wish they did something before the Steelers did.

"I think if any other team would’ve traded for him, my reaction would’ve been, ‘Oh well, good luck’," Florio said during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan. "They must feel pretty good about what he can do in that offense."

"With the Steelers doing it, I’m thinking they may have something here," he added later. "He’s gonna be a nice complement to what they currently have. They’re gonna make a lot of people wish that they had taken a closer look and tried to get Allen Robinson"

The 29-year-old is coming off a foot injury that limited him to just 10 games, 339 yards and three touchdowns last season. Robinson said during his welcome press conference that he's healthy, though, and that he'll be ready to go by the season.

Steelers general manager Omar Khan was nothing but excited about acquiring the veteran, saying he was on the mind the entire offseason.

"We’re excited to have him. Early on, when coach and I got together after the season and mapped out a plan, and what we wanted 2023 to look like, one of the things we were keen on was acquiring a veteran receiver," Khan said. "We’re excited that we were able to get it all done. With Allen, once the medical was confirmed to be okay, it was easy for us."

Entering his 10th NFL season, Robinson has three 1,000-yard seasons under his belt. And to Florio, he could be looking at another huge season in 2023.
