PITTSBURGH -- It appears the Broderick Jones will remain the Pittsburgh Steelers starter at right tackle after the rookie started the last two games over veteran Chuks Okorafor. And while the rookie has impressed everyone with his in-game play, he's impressing one star on the team during practice.

During an interview with Chris Long on the Green Light Podcast, Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt said that he and Jones are both improving, getting to go against each other at practice, and that the rookie is constantly looking to get better.

“It's fun for me to go up against Broderick in practice because he is a young guy that's always trying to ask me things and it's fun for me to go up against the guy that's always trying something new," Watt said. "He's not just trying to beat me, holding his hands every play or doing something different, he's actually trying things so we can work together. And I think it's making both of us better."

Jones, the Steelers first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is naturally a left tackle but impressed coaches in his debut at right so much that he was made the bonified starter. As of now, this plan is only for the season, but could be an option for next year if the team is confident in Dan Moore Jr. for the final year of his rookie contract.

The Steelers have huge expectations for Jones, and even if the long-term plan is for him to move back to the left side, getting to work through his rookie season with Watt is as good as it gets.
