In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers currently hold the 17th, 32nd and 49th picks in the first two rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft. And, likely usual, they have options about moving up or down before each of the three picks, with a lot of eyes on the first two (17 and 32).

So, will it happen?

Speaking at their pre-draft press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan were very open about the possibility of trading either of the picks, and what it'll take to move up from 17.

"We're not opposed to moving up in an effort to pinpoint someone that we believe is special," Tomlin said. "But we do truly believe there is great depth in this draft. We're ready and comfortable with whatever."

If they do move from 17, the Chicago Bears (No. 9) and Tennessee Titans (No. 11) have been reported landing spots for the Steelers. With either pick, the anticipation is that they'll target an offensive tackle to replace Dan Moore Jr.

Trading up in the first round is exciting. To the Steelers, it's business as usual, though.

What really has them excited is the possibilities that come with pick 32.

"We're excited about it," Tomlin said. "We've been talking about. The thing we're least familiar with about it is the amount of calls that we will be getting. That's what we've spent our time talking about is how do we organize and how do we get prepared for the receiving of the amount of interest that that pick could have."

The Steelers believe teams who are looking for a quarterback outside of the top 10 could be in play for a trade there, and simply having 24 hours before they make the selection gives plenty of time to find a trade suitor.

Pittsburgh feels they're coming into the NFL Draft without a position of need. They will have also spoken to all 31 other teams about potential trades before the first pick roles around on Thursday.

And if the right player is on the board ahead of their pick - or after it - they're listening to their options.
