NASHVILLE - Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins and his former girlfriend are facing serious charges after a domestic incident at their Nashville residence and a local restaurant on Thursday.

According to multiple reports, Haskins was charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation after allegedly grabbing his former girlfriend Makiah Shantel Green by the throat during the argument inside the Old Hickory Blvd. residence the two shared.

Haskins was jailed on Thursday after becoming upset that Green had liked another man’s picture on an Instagram account.

An argument ensued after the two agreed to end their relationship. Haskins reportedly kicked in a door inside the residence, allegedly cocked a handgun, and stated, “I hope you would,” as Green threatened to slash his tires and ripped a $5,000 chain around his neck.

According to police reports, Haskins witnessed his girlfriend ‘like’ an Instagram photo of another man in which the couple argued, and Green allegedly began throwing Haskins’s shoes onto the floor. At that time, Haskins demanded she stops touching his things. When she refused to stop, Hasking reportedly pushed her to the ground, causing an injury to her head.

A second argument then began, at which time the couple exchanged slaps, and in the course of the event, Haskins allegedly choked Green before leaving home.

On Thursday night, the couple once again became involved in an argument, where both produced weapons, with Green brandishing a knife in an attempt to slash Haskins tires, after the two broke each others phones during the course of the confrontation. It was at this point, after Green went to the kitchen and retrieved a knife, that Haskins allegedly cocked a gun and said, “I hope you would,” in regards to Green's threats to slash his tires.

While Haskins was arrested following the first incident, Green was arrested after the second such incident. He is free on a $10,000 bond. Green was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault/strangulation and felony vandalism. She is free on a $7,500 bond.

According to a statement from the Tennessee Titans, the team is aware of the situation and in the process of gathering more information.

This is the second negative incident for the team in the last two days, following the gambling suspension of starting offensive tackle Nicholas Petite-Frere, for six games for violating league rules on gambling.
