NASHVILLE - Most media and NFL experts feel the wide receivers for the Tennessee Titans are among the worst groups in the NFL. Until proven otherwise, that stigma will likely remain in the 2023 season.

However, when it comes to Treylon Burks, last season's first-round pick, he says there is no pressure on him individually to perform at a higher level because of the perceived weakness of his position group.

"Honestly, it doesn't put any pressure on me," said Burks. "Like I said, that's a question for Vrabs (Mike Vrabel), and I would just say, man, we just know in the locker room we're going to play whoever ever in the room, and everybody knows they will play their hardest, and play for the team, so that's what we're gonna do."

Burks has taken it upon himself to improve his conditioning, asthma issues, and ability to stay on the field this season.

"That's why I've been here, just making sure that I'm running in the heat, so when I do get that feeling, I know how to control it now, and just being here with Todd (Toriscelli, Vice President of Sports Medicine), running with him out there, or running with the strength coaches, and managing what I'm doing and not overdoing something, so it just all goes back to me being here throughout the whole offseason."

Entering his second season, Burks feels confident knowing what to expect this time and is ready to move toward the next level.

"Speaking for myself, honestly, it just gives you confidence that you've already been in it," added Burks. "I got thrown into the fire (last season), and I like being thrown into the fire, honestly, because it just makes you decide who you are and what kind of player you're going to be, and it just makes it easier on me know because I can concentrate on the things I know that can make me better and not worry about this stuff in the past."

While those inside the Titans organization show no fear of what their receiver room will be this season, the perception remains, and it's up to Burks to step up his game this season if this team is going to win, and that negative belief of this group is to be changed.
