NASHVILLE - Over the last two seasons, the Tennessee Titans have suffered through some of the worst injury luck of any team in the NFL, specifically last season, when injuries crushed a 7-3 team into a seven-game losing streak, that cost them the division lead, and ultimately a division title, and a playoff spot.

Let's face it, like most others in the media; I don't have high hopes that the 2023 Titans could win the Super Bowl. There seem to be too many questions for that to be realistic.

However, as it is currently constructed, this team could potentially win the AFC South division if the x-factor cooperates.

What's that x-factor?

Injuries.

When people have discussed the rash of injuries this team has endured, they have questioned the strength and conditioning program and whether it is doing the right things to condition these players to prevent some of the soft tissue issues players have faced.

They've also questioned head coach Mike Vrabel and his harder-than-most practices, where he builds his team into one group of tough-minded and physical maulers who beat their opponents into submission by being the more physical team on Sundays.

Suppose the Titans can avoid losing impact players like  Taylor Lewan, Ryan Tannehill, or Harold Landry this season. In that case, it will come down to the ability of those players to play the game on the field rather than be sitting in the training room or a doctor's office planning for surgery rather than studying the game plan to beat Jacksonville.

Regardless of any player or coach, this team needs some injury luck. If there is a football god, here's to hoping they show favor this season to a team that's had its share of late.
