NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are continuing to add pieces to their roster as summer practices roll on. According to a recent report from Jordan Schultz, the Titans will bring on interior defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson.

Johnson is a six-foot-three, 315-pound defensive lineman with six years of experience playing for three different teams. Johnson has played 74 games since coming into the NFL in 2017 including 21 starts. During those six seasons Johnson has played for the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans.

Interior defensive line isn't a position that racks up a ton of statistics, but Johnson has made his mark on the box score. In his career, Johnson has put up 125 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. Johnson has also produced 12 quarterback hits, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Johnson was originally a fourth-round pick out of Iowa. Johnson was taken by the Minnesota Vikings in 2017 and played his first four season in Minnesota. Heading into his seventh season Johnson will now join a Titans' defensive line that has had a lot of success with rotating names in recent years.

Outside of the Titans' three starters, Jeffery Simmons, Denico Autry and Teair Tart, the Titans don't have much veteran experience. After losing Mario Edwards and Demarcus Walker this offseason, the Titans needed some veteran depth.

With only Naquan Jones, Jayden Peevy, Curtis Brooks and Tyler Shelvin to compete with, Johnson could have a great shot to stick with the Titans this season. Johnson will be joining the team as they head into their second week of organized team activities(OTAs).

Coming off a season where Johnson played for two teams and only played in nine games, it'll be important for Johnson to show he has what it takes to stick on the Titans' roster if he wants to continue his NFL career.
