NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Titans continue to build on their staff, bringing in former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Justin Outten as their new running backs coach/run-game coordinator, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

A fairly popular name amongst coaching staffs around the NFL for various positions, Outten, who most recently spent time as the Broncos' offensive coordinator, also interviewed for the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator position recently. Outten also received requests from the Los Angeles Rams for an interview back in January.

It's clear that despite Denver's struggles as an offense throughout the 2022 season, Outten's previous experiences throughout the league made him a popular name for several ballclubs. In fact, the Titans also requested an interview with Outten for an offensive role on their staff back in January, so it appears as though they've been high on the former Denver OC for some time.

It should be noted that although Outten spent one full season as Denver's offensive coordinator, he did not call plays for the Broncos until the final two weeks of the regular season, where Denver's offense did see some slight improvements compared to their early struggles throughout the season when former head coach Nathaniel Hackett was assigned play-calling responsibilities.

Prior to becoming the Broncos' offensive coordinator, Outten spent time with the Green Bay Packers' as their tight ends coach from 2019-2021. Before that, Outten spent three seasons (2016-2018) as the Atlanta Falcons' offensive assistant.

With Outten now part of Tennessee's offensive staff, he'll get to work closely with one of the NFL's top running backs in Derrick Henry, who's coming off a season in which he rushed for 1,538 yards and scored 13 total touchdowns. Henry has an additional three seasons with more than 1,000 yards rushing as well. It'll be interesting to see how Outten implements his own coaching philosophies with Henry's physical style of running in 2023.
