Treylon Burks Returns to Practice, Gives Update on Injury Recovery: 'I Feel Great'

The Tennessee Titans got a major scare recently when receiver Treylon Burks went down with a knee injury in practice, but Burks is now back on the practice field and gave an encouraging update on his status.

The Tennessee Titans saw second-year receiver Treylon Burks go down with a knee injury in a recent joint practice against the Minnesota Vikings on August 16, Avoiding the worst, Burks was diagnosed with an LCL injury. No timeline for return was given, but based on some things from Monday, it looks like Burks could be available for the start of the season.

Burks was back out on the practice field on Monday. Below you can see Burks going through some individual wide receivers drills with his teammates, including DeAndre Hopkins. This is a great sign for Burks who looked like he could have suffered a major injury just a few weeks ago.

Burks also talked to the media before practice and gave an update on his status and what he is doing to get ready.

"I feel great," Burks said. "Doing exactly what Todd (Toriscelli, Director of Sports Medicine) has me doing to get back and be out there with the team. (I've been) Going to meetings, lifting weights, conditioning as much as I can. Just being in tune with everything. Making sure that I get the little details they give me or give the guys around me."

It is great news for the Titans that Burks is feeling good, but there definitely was a moment where Burks was worried about the knee as someone who has already had one ACL injury. Burks talked about the moment of relief when he learned what was wrong.

"Just knowing like I've already been through an ACL injury before," Burks explained while shaking his head. "It's just scary when you hurt your knee. I was just thankful, prayed. God always comes through with his blessings."

Having Burks back out on the field at practice is a blessing for the Titans. They would be even more grateful if Burks were ready for the regular season opener as he is expected to be a big part of the Titans' success or failure this year on offense.
