NASHVILLE - There's no denying that the Tennessee Titans need more overall team speed at every position heading into the 2023 season.

While it's obvious to those outside the organization, it's also known to those inside Baptist Sports Park. On Monday, while speaking with reporters at the NFL owner's meeting in Arizona, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel addressed this issue.

On Monday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about team speed during his media session at the NFL owner's meeting in Phoenix.

While his full answer can be seen in the video above, the point of his answer was simple.

Vrabel, general manager Ran Carthon, and the entire scouting department are looking to improve their speed at every position, be it "small, fast guys" or "big fast guys."

While the team could stand an infusion of speed at multiple positions, wide receiver was the one group Vrabel mentioned by name near the end of his comment.

Several options for that position will likely be available for the Titans in the upcoming draft. However, the player most widely projected to the team, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, posted a very impressive 4.5 forty time at the combine in Indianapolis.

While that time is good enough for an NFL receiver, other players posted faster times but don't have the same explosive skill set as Smith-Njigba.

One player that has been tied to the Titans sometimes in some mock drafts is TCU wideout Quinton Johnston, who most rank as the best talent in this class.

Johnston did not run the 40 at the combine but has posted a 4.4 time in the past. Either of these players would be an upgrade to the Titans receiving corps, and perhaps adding another of the even faster players with another selection could be an option for the team.

Either way, the Titans must get faster among the wideouts and any other positions on the field at the same time.
