Tennessee Titans Release First Injury Report of Week 6 Ahead of Matchup with Baltimore Ravens

The Tennessee Titans have a physical matchup ahead with the Baltimore Ravens which makes it concerning that both the Titans starting defensive tackles missed practice on Wednesday, one of them being All-Pro Jeffery Simmons.

In this story:

The Tennessee Titans will travel to London, England this week to take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens present a physical challenge for the Titans just one week after they failed a similar test against the Indianapolis Colts.

If the Titans hope for a different outcome this week they will need all hands on deck. They are looking to avoid a drop to 2-4 that would put major doubt on their playoff hopes, so seeing the first injury report of the week must be concerning.

The biggest takeaway here is the absence of Teair Tart and Jeffery Simmons. While there may not be much concern about Simmons playing in London, Tart just missed last week's game and it is no shock that coincided with the worst run defense we have seen from the Titans in a long time.

Even if Simmons plays, it is obvious he will be banged up with a shoulder injury. If Tart plays, he likely won't be 100% on a knee that has had him on the injury report for more weeks of the season than not. Neither being in great form would be a disaster for the Titans.

We also see wide receiver Treylon Burks continuing to be a non-participant. Burks hasn't practiced since the Wednesday after the Titans' Week 3 game against the Browns. Why Burks hasn't been place on injured reserve is a bit of a mystery.

Linebacker Luke Gifford and safety Elijah Molden were the other two non-participants. Gifford missed last week as well and hasn't practiced in some time. Molden missed in Week 4 against the Bengals, but was back against the Colts. This could be planned maintenance for Molden.

Two starters were listed as limited in linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair and center Aaron Brewer. Both are critical to the middle of the Titans' defense and offense, respectively. Their status will be worth monitoring going forward.

Finally, both Derrick Henry and DeAndre Hopkins were limited, but due to rest, not injury. Welcome news for all Titans supporters out there.
