Titans Add Jarvis Landry in "One Last Move" List from PFF's Brad Spielberger

In this story:
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans' need at wide receiver has been well documented at this point. It is not only something that people who follow the Titans know, but clearly the rest of the NFL world is aware now as well. It is no surprise then that in a list outling "one last move" each AFC team should make, the Titans added Jarvis Landry.
Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus, put together the list and made the connection with Landry.
"Landry is an underneath slot receiver who could be a safety valve over the middle for Ryan Tannehill — and, eventually, Will Levis — and the Titans desperately need to add pass catchers. After missing most of the 2022 season with an injury, Landry is likely looking at one-year flier contract offers once again in 2023.
He is also known to be a good veteran leader, which could be a nice addition to a team with a lot of young offensive weapons. He's coming off the two worst seasons of his career, but he was arguably the best slot receiver in the NFL from 2015 to 2020. His 3,938 receiving yards, 1,748 yards after the catch, 1,166 yards after contact and 91 explosive receptions of 15 or more yards all ranked first among qualifying slot receivers over that span. Buying low on a potential bounce-back player could age nicely in the right setting."
I can see the argument. At this point, maybe any addition is worthwhile. Also, anyone who doesn't follow the Titans consistently probably has never heard of Kyle Philips. Saying the Titans shouldn't bring in one of the most productive receivers over the last 8 seasons because of someone named Kyle Philips is probably crazy.
Well, call me crazy then. The Titans have gone through enough aging receivers. Even if Landry comes on a cheap deal, the Titans are probably better served to give those snaps to a young player like Philips. Landry also would struggle as an outside receiver in the Titans' system which complicates things further.
The reality is, unless a trade is made for a significant piece at the position, the Titans are probably better off holding on the receiver room their have now and seeing if they can get anything from the young and unproven guys they already have in the room.
