Titans Star DT Jeffery Simmons Already Recruiting DeAndre Hopkins

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have a meeting scheduled with DeAndre Hopkins on Sunday and it will be important for the Titans to make the meeting go well as they are desperate for help at the receiver position. Titans star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is doing his part to ensure Hopkins feels wanted.

Simmons went on NFL Total Access on Wednesday and discussed the potential addition of Hopkins and what he is doing to help with the recruitment process.

"It's crazy, I didn't know until today(Wednesday) and of course, I already sent the DM(direct message), 'Come on with it, you already know what's up.' I already know what type of player he is. Being able to play against him and get ready to play against him. Just to watch the film and 'DeAndre Hopkins, DeAndre Hopkins, that's the guy we gotta stop' and everyone having a lot of respect for DeAndre Hopkins. He been around the game for a long time, his playmaking ability and I'm sure just his leadership, what type of teammate he is, is the reason why everybody wants him on their team."

Simmons certainly knows the type of talent Hopkins has and what it means for opposing defenses. Simmons also seems to understand what it could mean for the vibe around the Titans. Simmons also spoke about the prospect of the Titans rebuilding as a team this season and he mentioned it in relation to the Hopkins move.

"I would love him on our team. Hopefully, I see him around while he is in town, but it would be lovely to have him on our team to help us not to rebuild. To help us get some wins this year."

The Titans have to hope that Simmons public and private pitch to Hopkins works and they can add him to the roster. As Simmons seems to understand, the Titans need Hopkins for them to accomplish the goals Simmons surely has in mind for this team.
