The Tennessee Titans are nearing the end of another week of training camp, as Robert Saleh's group will host the Seattle Seahawks at Nissan Stadium for a preseason game on Sunday.

Tennessee had a joint practice with Seattle on Friday and held its own versus the defending Super Bowl champions. After an up-and-down showing in Santa Clara against the San Francisco 49ers last week, it was refreshing to see the Titans bounce back and carry some momentum into the preseason contest.

With a week to go in camp, many of Tennessee's position battles are unsettled, meaning Sunday's game will be a defining moment for Cordell Volson.

Cordell Volson Could go From Projected Starter to Cut Candidate

Entering camp, Volson was discussed as a potential starter on the Titans' offensive line at right guard. However, he's turned in an underwhelming training camp and was a clear liability for the offense last Thursday in San Francisco.

In 23 snaps against the 49ers, Volson allowed a sack and was outplayed by rookie Fernando Carmona. Pro Football Focus gave Volson a 74.8 run-blocking grade but a poor 58.6 pass-blocking grade.

At this point, Volson seems to be the No. 3 right guard behind Carmona and Jackson Slater. If the former Cincinnati Bengal doesn't step his game up, the Titans could cut him and look elsewhere for a veteran depth piece on the interior.

Carmona's rise as the favorite for the right guard gig likely means Volson won't be a starter, meaning he must secure one of the final spots in the offensive line room. His experience as a starter with the Bengals should give him a compelling case to be kept around, but more preseason struggles would overshadow that.

The Titans will finish the preseason next week at home versus the Chicago Bears, but Sunday night's game against Seattle is a key moment for Volson. If he underperforms again, the 28-year-old will firmly be on the roster bubble, and his days in Nashville could be numbered.
