On the 2020 NFL Draft, Bill Belichick's dog stole the show. It was a relatively rare breed, the Alaskan Klee Kai, and when it sat in Belichick's chair during the virtual draft, people seemingly fell in love with it. The Klee Kai association originally thought the uptick in adoptions was because of the stimulus check or boredom during the pandemic, but that is clearly not the case.

Robin Lundberg: Perhaps a dog could make Bill Belichick more likable. It certainly did during the night of the NFL draft and it has made a breed of dog more sought after. For more, I'm joined by Conor Orr of the MMQB Conor, the Klee Kai, is that what it's called? People are trying to buy those after seeing Belichick's dog?

Conor Orr: Yeah, the Alaskan Klee Kai, which is essentially kind of a purebred miniature husky, little bit of an obscure breed, came into existence in the mid to late 70s and acquired by Bill Belichick s girlfriend, Linda Holliday, and now one of the more sought after purebred dogs on the market.

Robin Lundberg: Yeah. I mean, how quickly did this explode and how much you think it was just the association with Belichick? Because you're not used to seeing his soft side, if you will.

Conor Orr: Yeah. Yeah. So when we talked to the president of the Alaskan Klee Kai Association and at first they thought it was maybe stimulus check money that was coming in or that people were bored during the pandemic. Then they saw the clips during the draft and they said, oh, my goodness. I think this is a lot has to do with the Bill Belichick and how much everybody started to love the dog who stole the draft from the hoodie to the husky, if you will.

Robin Lundberg: Connor, appreciate your time, as always.
