Adrian Peterson Released by Washington Football Team

Breaking news out of the NFC East where the Washington Football Team has released veteran running back Adrian Peterson. 

The 35-year-old running back spent the last two seasons in Washington where he led the team with 1,940 yards and 12 touchdowns. Peterson is currently fifth all-time on the NFL’s rushing yards list and fourth all time in rushing touchdowns. 

From a fantasy football perspective, Peterson’s release opens the door for rookie Antonio Gibson and Bryce Love to take over as the primary staples in their backfield.
