Minnesota Wild forward Derek Boogaard was suspended five games Saturday without pay for elbowing Calgary's Brandon Prust in the head.

At 18:48 of the third period, Prust was injured on the play in the third period of Friday night's game and did not return to the game. Officials assessed Boogaard minor penalties for boarding and roughing.

Boogaard missed Saturday night's game at Edmonton. He will be eligible to return March 10 vs. San Jose.
