Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott was suspended one game by the NHL for attempting to injure Anaheim's Travis Moen during a fight Saturday.
Ott, who was suspended indefinitely a day later, did not play Sunday against Pittsburgh and is eligible to return Tuesday when the Stars play the Sharks in San Jose.
Ott and Moen squared off after the final horn sounded in Anaheim's 4-3 victory Saturday over Dallas. Ott's hand made contact with Moen's eye, which game officials ruled was an eye-gouge and gave him a match penalty for attempting to injure.
Ott left the ice with two cuts on his face.
Ott was suspended for three games in March 2008 and is now considered a repeat offender by the league. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement he will be fined based on the number of games (82) rather than the number of days (186) in the season - a little more than $17,000. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
