Alfredsson to miss Senators' game at Carolina

OTTAWA (AP) -- Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson will miss Ottawa's game at Carolina because of an undisclosed injury.

The 38-year-old forward has three goals and two assists in eight games with Ottawa this season. He had offseason back surgery after missing most of the second half of the 2010-11 campaign.

In a corresponding move Monday, the club recalled forward Kaspars Daugavins from Binghamton of the AHL.

The 23-year-old Daugavins has four goals and two assists in six games with Binghamton this season.
