SI.com -- According to reports in the Canadian Press, the Montreal Canadiens have dismissed GM Pierre Gauthier. A press conference has been called for 11:45 PM. SI.com's Stu Hackel will offer his reaction later today.

Gauthier takes the fall for a disastrous season that saw the Canadiens fail to make the playoffs. The GM drew heavy criticism in Montreal for hiring non-French-speaking coach Randy Cunneyworth after the firing of Jacques Martin in December, and has made a series of bad trades and personnel moves. He has been the Canadiens' GM and executive vice president since February 2010.
