VIDEO: Kari Lehtonen forced to leave game after crease collision vs. Wild

By Mike McMahon

Dallas Stars netminder Kari Lehtonen was forced to leave the game after he was crashed into by Minnesota Wild forward Erik Haula.

The scary moment came in the 3rd period when Haula came charging up the right side with Dallas forward Cody Eakin back-checking him. Haula got off a backhand shot before colliding with Lehtonen, knocking his mask off and causing him to bleed after knocking his head against the crossbar.

Haula received a five-minute major penalty for charging and a game misconduct, while Lehtonen was forced to leave the game. Tim Thomas stepped in to make his debut after being traded to the Stars on Wednesday.
