VIDEO: Wild analyst takes stick to the eye, returns to finish game

Minnesota Wild color analyst Mike Greenlay showed us that it's not only the guys on the ice who have that world famous "hockey grit."

In the first period of Minnesota's tilt against the New York Rangers, Greenlay was stationed between the benches for rink-side reporting duty. An errant stick caught him in the eye when the Wild's Matt Cooke and Mats Zuccarello of the Blueshirts banged into the boards in front of him.

Greenlay, a former NHLer, returned to his perch after the first intermission with four stitches and a little blood splatter on his dress shirt. He joins a growing club of ice-level reporters who have suffered on-the-job injuries during the past few seasons, including Pierre McGuire and John Giannone.
