Bruins become first team to clinch playoff spot with 11th straight win

By Nick Stoico
With a 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Friday, the Boston Bruins earned their eleventh straight win, broke 100 points and secured a position in the 2014 NHL playoffs.
Not a bad night in the Mile-High City.
Oh, and the Bruins just clinched a playoff spot. First in the NHL to do so.

The Bruins have been unstoppable in the month of March. The last time they lost was a 4-2 decision to the Washington Capitals on March 1. Since then, Boston has outscored opponents 43-15 and killed 26 of 27 penalties. In nine of the 11 games on the streak, the Bruins have allowed two or fewer goals and haven't trailed since the 9:57 mark in the second period of a 5-2 win over the Panthers on March 9.
That makes it six straight entire games, 19.5 periods, 390:02 of game time, or 6.5 HOURS of play without trailing.
