Rookie defenseman Seth Jones of the Nashville Predators took a big hit from Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw along the neutral zone boards with 7:23 left in the first period of Sunday's game, but continued to play for the remainder of the period. The Predators later announced he'd suffered an upper body injury and wouldn't return for the start of the second.

Jones, the fourth overall pick in the 2013 draft, was expected to be a strong contender for the Calder Trophy this season. He's put up six goals and 24 points in 71 games for Nashville, which sits at the bottom of the Central Division with 70 points.
