VIDEO: Jonathan Toews leaves games vs. Penguins after hit from Brooks Orpik

By Mike McMahon

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was forced to leave Sunday's action against the Pittsburgh Penguins after taking a heavy hit into the corner boards from defenseman Brooks Orpik.

With the puck at his feet, Toews didn't see the hit coming. He skated straight to Chicago's bench under his own power while favoring his left shoulder, went straight to the locker room, was later ruled out of the game with an upper-body injury.

Orpik, known as a heavy hitter, did not receive a penalty for the check.

The injury to Toews comes just over a week after the Blackhawks lost star winger Patrick Kane to an ankle injury.
