Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta sealed the win in the Habs regular season finale scoring on quite the penalty shot in OT. Gionta beat New York Rangers goalie Cam Talbot on a triple-deke that would have made Gordon Bombay proud.

The first three periods were scoreless and Raphael Diaz was called for a tripping penalty in OT when Gionta got out on a breakaway.

Gionta wraps up the regular season with 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists).

Montreal finishes the season with 100 points and will face Tampa Bay in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

That was Brian Gionta's 40th point of the season, the eight member of #Hab s to reach that mark
