More than a year after being hit in the face with a puck, a Blackhawks fan has filed a personal injury suit against the United Center, theChicago Sun-Times reports.

Patricia Higgins, a 56-year-old season ticket holder, was hit by a puck during Game 1 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final. The puck opened a "1 1/2-inch bone deep gash extending from the bridge of her nose through her right eyebrow, which required stitches."

NBC Chicago reports that the plaintiff believes that the arena's safety nets were not properly kept:

Higgins claims the United Center was careless and negligent in its installation and maintenance of the nets and said she has “sustained injuries, suffered pain, lost wages and medical bills, and will continue to suffer such damages in the future,” according to the lawsuit.

Higgins is seeking an unspecified amount of money and legal fees.
