The Rangers have agreed to sign forward Lee Stempniak, the team announced Saturday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Stempniak, 31, scored four goals and recorded seven assists in 21 games last season after being dealt to Pittsburgh in a trade with Calgary.
The 2003 fifth-round pick has also had stints with St. Louis, Toronto and Phoenix.
Last season, the Rangers won 45 games and earned the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference before falling to the Kings in the Stanley Cup Finals.
