The New Jersey Devils agreed to a long-term extension with defenseman Andy Greene, the team announced Wednesday. Chris Johnston of Rogers Sportsnet reports that the deal is worth $25 million over five years.

Greene played all 82 games for the Devils last season, scoring eight goals and recording 24 assists. His 32 points were second among the team's defensemen. Greene has appeared in 147 straight games, dating back to March 2012.

This is the second major extension the Devils signed this offseason. Earlier this month the team locked up goalie Cory Schneider on a multi-year extension.
