What's it like to face Sidney Crosby? ECHL goalie shares his experience

It's not uncommon for pro hockey players to return home to train during the offseason. For many Canadian players, there's a wealth of talent in their native cities to help keep them in peak form. 

When it comes to spending the summer months in Nova Scotia, however, the skill level is upped considerably. Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, arguably the best hockey player in the world, and Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, the first overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft and reigning rookie of the year, travel back to Cole Harbour to keep themselves sharp. They've been joined in recent years by MacKinnon's All-Star Colorado teammate Matt Duchene.

The trio represents a sizable amount of the NHL's marquee young talent, all well-known for their deft stick-handling, all-world speed and ability to drive goalies crazy. It's no easy task to stop any one of them -- let alone all three -- but that's the task taken on by Ben Meisner, a goalie with the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets and another on Nova Scotia's growing list of hockey-playing professionals.

After seeing plenty of pucks from the likes of Crosby, MacKinnon and Duchene, Meisner shared his take on all three with Halifax Mooseheads radio announcer John Moore, giving a viewpoint rarely seen on highlight reels or heard in analyst booths.
