Rangers' Alain Vigneault says Derek Stepan could go to LTIR

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said following New York's loss to the Devils on Saturday that he will announce Monday whether Rangers center Derek Stepan will move to the long term injured reserve list.
The 24-year-old fractured his left fibula while conditioning at the end of September and was expected to miss four to six weeks. The move would mean Stepan would miss a minimum of 10 games but the Rangers would free up the $3.075 million cap hit for now.
Stepan never missed a game in his four-year career. Last season, he had 57 points and added another 15 points in the Rangers' postseason run to the Stanley Cup Final.
AV says postgame that he is leaning towards #NYR placing Derek Stepan on LTIR and keeping 14 forwards to start season..decision Monday
