Bruins sign Simon Gagne to one-year, $600k deal

The Boston Bruins signed veteran Simon Gagne to a one-year deal worth $600,000, the team announced Tuesday.

Gagne, 34, attended the Bruins' training camp. He did not play last season becuase he was not picked up by a team.

The last season the forward played was in 2012-13, when he scored five goals and six assists in 27 games with the Philadelphia Flyers.

In his 13-year career, Gagne has scored 288 goals with 309 assists and recorded a plus-129 rating in 799 games with Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Los Angeles Kings.

The team also announced they assigned forwards Bobby Robins and Jordan Caron to Providence.

The Bruins (1-3-0) travel to play the Detroit Red Wings (1-1-0) on Wednesday.
