Rick Nash sets Rangers mark with season-opening scoring streak

Rick Nash of the New York Rangers has set a franchise record with his season-opening scoring streak.

Rick Nash may want to retract what he said to the New York Post about his newborn son having nothing to do with hockey

Nash notched an early goal against the Islanders on Tuesday night, becoming the first player in Rangers' franchise history to score in each of the team's first four games of a season.

The goal gave Nash five for the season, including the one he tallied before leaving Sunday's game against the Maple Leafs after the second period to be with his wife before the birth of McLaren Nash, the couple's first child. Clearly the arrival of the little nipper has given the Rangers' winger an emotional lift.

Update: Nash added a second goal against the Islanders in the third period, giving him six through four games in 2014-15, upping his pace to 123 goals over an 82-game season.
