Monday October 20th, 2014

The Dallas Stars placed forward Valeri Nichushkin on injured reserve due to a groin injury and recalled defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka from the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, the team announced.

Nichushkin has been dealing with the injury for the past month, and re-aggravated it during practice last week. He has played in two games this season and recorded two penalty minutes. Nichushkin could start practicing this week.

The forward has not played since Oct. 11 and was originally supposed to be out for 7-10 days. Nichushkin scored 14 goals and had 20 assists in 79 games during his rookie campaign last season.
