Coyotes recall Lessio, send Schlemko to minors

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes have recalled defenseman Lucas Lessio from Portland of the AHL and assigned defenseman David Schlemko to the Pirates after he cleared waivers.

The Coyotes placed Schlemko on waivers before Friday's game at Vancouver. The 27-year-old had a goal in seven games with Arizona and had been a healthy scratch the previous five games.

The 21-year-old Lessio had five goals and three assists in 14 games with the Pirates this season after having a solid training camp with the Coyotes. He played three games with Arizona last season.
