Florida Panthers rookie Rocco Grimaldi played in and NHL game on November 18 hours after skating in an AHL game.
Florida Panthers rookie Rocco Grimaldi had a busy day.
The forward played twice on Tuesday: a 3 p.m. EST AHL game for San Antonio against the Oklahoma City Barons in which he racked up three shots on goal in the Rampage's 4-3 win, quickly followed by a plane ride to Los Angeles to join the Panthers for a 10 p.m. EST NHL matchup against the Kings.
Tuesday marked the California-born rookie's fifth game with Panthers, though he has yet to record his first NHL point. He finished the match vs. L.A. with 10:36 of ice time, including :59 on the power play, winning 57% of his face-offs and being awarded two minutes in the penalty box for slashing in the third period of Florida's 5-2 loss.
