Panthers' Rocco Grimaldi plays vs. Kings hours after skating in AHL game

Florida Panthers rookie Rocco Grimaldi played in and NHL game on November 18 hours after skating in an AHL game.

Florida Panthers rookie Rocco Grimaldi had a busy day.

The forward played twice on Tuesday: a 3 p.m. EST AHL game for San Antonio against the Oklahoma City Barons in which he racked up three shots on goal in the Rampage's 4-3 win, quickly followed by a plane ride to Los Angeles to join the Panthers for a 10 p.m. EST NHL matchup against the Kings.

Tuesday marked the California-born rookie's fifth game with Panthers, though he has yet to record his first NHL point. He finished the match vs. L.A. with 10:36 of ice time, including :59 on the power play, winning 57% of his face-offs and being awarded two minutes in the penalty box for slashing in the third period of Florida's 5-2 loss.
