Coyotes GM Don Maloney announced the teams sent Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional fifth round pick in 2016 to Pittsburgh in exchange for the 23-year-old defenseman. Samuelsson has registered 4 assists and twenty penalty minutes in 22 games with Pittsburgh’s AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He was the Pens' 2009 second round pick at the draft, going 61st overall, while Henrik, a winger with the AHL's Portland Pirates, was selected 27th overall by Arizona in 2012.

Klinkhammer has three goals in 19 games this season and will provide depth for the Penguins, who are missing forward Chris Kunitz, Beau Bennett and Pascal Dupuis to various maladies.
