Sabres, Blue Jackets swap minor-league forwards

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets have swapped minor-league forwards.

The Sabres acquired Jerry D'Amigo in exchange for center Luke Adam in a trade Tuesday.

The 23-year-old D'Amigo is from Binghamton, New York, and had three goals and four assists in 29 games for Columbus' AHL Springfield affiliate this season. Selected in the sixth-round of the 2009 draft by Toronto, he had a goal and two assists in 22 games with the Maple Leafs last season.

D'Amigo will report to the Sabres' AHL affiliate in Rochester.

Adam has had difficulty earning a regular role in Buffalo since being selected in the second round of the 2008 draft. He has 15 goals and 11 assists in 87 career games with the Sabres split over the previous four seasons.
