Fehr scores twice as Caps beat Pens for first time in nearly three years

In 2011, Washington Capitals forward Eric Fehr scored two goals to propel his team to a 3-1 over the host team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, in that year’s Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, the league’s premier outdoor hockey game.
Almost four years later, and a smidge under five days before the Capitals will play host to the Chicago Blackhawks at the 2015 Winter Classic, Fehr had another two-goal game against Pittsburgh, a game the Capitals won 3-0.
It was also the first time Holtby backstopped a win over the Penguins.
In his last 10-game stretch, the 25-year old goaltender has a 7-1-2 record and a .917 save percentage on the season.
Pittsburgh, plagued by injuries, and illnesses like mumps, is 5-2-3 in its last 10 games. The Capitals have rolled through the month of December with only one loss in regulation and a 8-1-2 record.
