NHL announces selections for 2015 All-Star Game

The NHL announced 36 players as All-Star selections on Saturday for the game that will be played Jan. 25 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

The NHL announced 36 players as All-Star selections on Saturday for the game that will be played Jan. 25 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. 

Each of the 30 NHL teams will have at least one representative in the game.

On Jan. 3, six players (Buffalo Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons, and Chicago Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, defensemen Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook, and goalie Corey Crawford) were voted in by fans. Girgensons garnered the most votes.

The other 30 roster spots were determined by the league.

The teams, which are selected in a fantasy draft, will be picked on Jan. 23. The captain for each team will be announced next week. The two teams will be coached by Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Darryl Sutter of the Los Angeles Kings.
