KHL All-Star skills goal puts NHL shooters to shame

While the NHL's best shooters bumbled their way through the All-Star Skills breakaway challenge, Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick Nikita Gusev scored an amazing goal at the KHL All-Star Skills Competition in Sochi.

While the NHL’s best shooters stumbled and bumbled their way on Saturday through the All-Star Skills breakaway challenge (just how many strikes would you like, Alex?), a Lightning draft pick was putting on a show in Sochi.

Nikita Gusev, a seventh-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2012, needed just one chance to score a spectacular goal at last weekend’s KHL All-Star festivities. The 22-year-old forward for Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk dipped down, cradled the puck and pulled off a lacrosse-style spin-o-rama that dazzled the crowd at the Bolshoi Ice Dome.

Not bad, kid.
